mdadm created mirrored drive maintenance?

Hello Linux Guru's

I just want to ask is there any maintenance procedure to secure the raid 1 array recently built via mdadm command?

I've been experiencing some error logs specially on on our centos box that has a raid 1 mounted via nfs to the /home of our samba pdc (another centos box).

some errors:

logrotate: ALERT exited abnormally with [1]

rpc.statd[2156]: Can't notify 192.168.0.10, giving up

Our company has a low budget on buying storage servers and we have only limited knowledge and time to build so we used a nfs mounted mirror drive to the samba pdc's /home that acts as storage of the files and profiles of less than 50 users.

Any suggestions of alternative procedures of low cost storage or how can I maintain our mirror drive?
thanks for the suggestions in advance...

If I understand you correctly, you have a Centos box offering storage via NFS to another Centos box which is offering that same storage as CIFS. Why not just export directly as CIFS from the first box? Or do you need the high latency?
