May have f'd up my PC...
Now I just got some new hardware, everything expect a HDD, I had an old one(just a few years) that I installed. After that I connested the cables, when I was connecting the power cable I saw a switch saying 230, I tryd to switch it to 130, but what I didn't notice was that the power was on. There came afew sparks from the plug(in the pc). I ripped out the plug, then calmd down for a few secs.
Then I swiched it back and finnished connecting the cables, and tryd to turn it on, nothing.
I looked in side, the motherboard looks fine, so does the rest of the PC.
So it didn't shourt the pc, I can't remember what it is calld, but is there a sucureity thingy there that prevents things like this to burn your PC, like a short wire or am I just lucky(well, kinda)?

You may have destroyed the power supply. If you can take it out and take the case off of it, you might find some fuses that you can just replace. But if you saw sparks and smoke, chances are you need to purchase a new power supply. Once you have that, you'll find out if any other damage was done to the system. If the board looks okay, you might just be lucky and nothing else is damaged. But electronics can be damaged without any visible sign...

Looking is not good enough.... The CPU might be cooked along with other components (worse case) on the motherboard. The Power Supply is more then likely dead (best case).

Cheap power supplies have a common ground bus for the AC/DC sides, and in some cases this a send a ground surge to the Mother Board which can kill the CPU and maybe other components. Some times you get lucky and the fuse on the Mother Board blows before any damage is done. In either case you will need at least a new power supply, and maybe the fuse replaced.

I didn't see any smokes, just a few sparks.
And i didn't smell anything eighter.

ok, I hope it's the fuse(there was it) it was a new used PC, maight get the monny back if I talk to the guy how sold it, but was nice price. I'll just chech out the thing, but I dont think it could have destroyed the CPU, cuz what I did was switching it to 130(or 150, I not gonna check) and it didn't change anything on the CPU, and the CPU can take 230W, or else all computers would be smoked.
I would guess a fuse was burned.

As Lenard said, the switch on the power supply changes the supply from using 230V to 120V AC current. By switching it during operation, you most likely destroyed the power supply (changing a fuse probably won't help).

The danger is that when you smoked the supply, it might have sent a surge into the motherboard (because that's how the motherboard gets it's power) and in turn might have damaged the motherboard. There may be no VISIBLE signs, but it could still be damaged...

The PC was not on. The switch on the wall was on. The CPU should not get any power.
