Maxtor Internal Sata II 160GB hard drive question
Hi I was wondering what hard drive sport Linux as I saw one on amazon.com and was thinking of buying it here is the name it is a Maxtor Internal Sata II 160GB 7200RPM
And the url is this http://www.amazon.com/Internal-Sata-...4276381&sr=1-2 Would this hard drive work? |
that depends on what kind of distribution you're using. if you're using a pretty recent one, than sata drivers are loaded by default, if you're using a distro that has no sata support, than it's useless, because you'll have no drivers loaded. it pretty much depends on what you're using

All SATA disks should work providing your motherboard has a supported SATA controller. That's what you need to look into, not the brand of the disks themselves.
