mandrake 9 console and mouse inputs

When I am in a console in mandrake 9 I move the mouse (ps/2)
and it basically will start highlighting text and will result like I am pushing enter on the keyboard. In X it works just fine. Should I try to setup the mouse again in hardware? If I have to where do I do that. I tried kudzu but that didn't work. This is my first dealings with mandrake, I am more use to RedHat. Thanks for your help.

Fixed

I finally figured out the mouseconfig command and picked generic ps/2 and that fixed the problem.
