Mandrake 9.2 used to play sound, now it wont.
OK First off I have searched and search all throught he pages for somthing remotly similar to my problem. I have not found it. But i have tried to get some help from others, so you guys are my last choice. I am a noob so be nice, Im trying my best to become part of the linux community.
I did a fresh install of Mandrake 9.2 this morning. I did have sound working and a sound card driver install, so I really didnt take notice of what model or any of that crap because It was working. Then I used to Automatic package update to update all my programs. It did. Then I started having trouble with sound after I logged out and then back in. Ive never ran into this kind of problem. Ive tried a modprobe snd command and alsaconf, and lsmod. Im not sure what happend so I hope you guys could help me.
Kernal: 2.4.22-10mdk
Distro: Mandrake 9.2
Sound card: as far as i could tell it used VIA drivers for an internal card, before it messed up.
And I auto updated everything after the install.
I have ALSA 0.9 installed with all libs and so on.
I hope you guys can help.
