Mandrake 9.1 - video / sound issues

I've just installed mdk 9.1, and am having trouble with two fairly fundamental items:
-Video
-Sound

firstly, it found my vidcard/monitor fine, but won't let me change any settings in the install, and just exits when I try in MCC..

for some strange reason it's staying on frame-buffer, not an actual defined res..]

I'm running a VideoLogic Kyro2..

Secondly, I have an onboard soundcard as well as an SBAudigy.. The onboard card is disabled in BIOS, yet not only does MCC show both devices, it's set the onboard as default and I can't seem to disable it..

How can I do this?

The installer for mandrake 9.1 is alot different to most others. You only choose packages etc. you then get a summary screen where you can choose to change other settings such as the X config. Try running mcc in a VT to change the settings. As for the sound card i have no clue.
