I'm a real n00b at linux so forgive me if this is a dumb question. I am trying to install Mandrake 9.1 on a PC. I'm getting a screen that is asking me to select a disk/scsi driver. I tried everyone on the list and non of them worked. What should I do?
Gigabyte GA-7VA-C Motherboard
AMD Athlon 2300+ Processor
Western Digital 40GB HDD
GeForce 4 440 MX Video Card
512 MB DDR 333 Ram
Very confused owner???
Can you give me a screen shot? I believe I may actually be able to answer this. Is the whole Mandrake setup working? I know that you're getting that message, but can you still use the computer?
it's on another PC . It's on the 5th or 6th screen of the install, right after the license. Linux is the 1st OS I'm loading on the machine. I'm downloading Red Hat right now but it will be about another hour before it's done. I want to see if it's giving me the same problem. I've tried everything I know to do. My BIOS see's my HDD just fine. There's no where to try to load a driver from disk either, I can't get past the screen.
BTW, there's about 100 different drivers on the list and I tired them all (I think). Each time it would just kick me back to the same screen. I tried rebooting a couple of time with the same result.
I'm sorry, but I have to go. An event just came up, and I have to go (fix a family member's computer{I should charge for this}). Maybe another person can help.
I believe he's saying that it cant be skipped. He may already have tried that. If anything is connected by SCSI, let us know. It can help us out somewhat.
