Mandrake 9.1 and ATI drivers :]


Hi!

I`m newbie as you all can see :].

My problem is with damn ATI drivers and Mandrake 9.1 (XFree86 4.3.0) I read some of earlier posted articles but didn`t find help in them at all :-(. So i ask once more . IF someone could explain it to me like to a complete dump i would be very thankful :] and Maybe than i`ll catch something from it...but , no seriously please help!.

ok, what ati do you have? there is a thread about problem devices at the top of the forum you might read, a post in there about ati devices with a good link.

if it is something like an hp laptop you might have to wait a little bit for full support as they are not ready yet with something...

i think that a developement kernal now has hardware support(3d) but i havent tried it yet so i dont know.

anyway follow the link i pointed you to there is a list of supported devices.

ok, sorry for late :> but i had a problem with my comp...anyway. My card is ATI 9000pro HIS. I know about those drivers on linux web site, i tried them too. But they are for XFree86 4.2 only. Mandrake 9.1 has 4.3. And they didn`t want to work . So maybe other sugestions, also they say that drviers on ATI site are for 2d only :|. Damn it`s hard to hava ati card on linux . Although i still think that ATI roxxx :>
