Mandrake 8.2, soundblaster live, and onboard sound
 

I recently installed Mandrake 8.2. However, I can't get the sound to work. It worked fine previously in 8.1, but I can't it it to work now :(. I try to run sndconfig, but it detects my onboard sound and quits, not giving me the option to use configure it for my soundblaster. I even disabled the onboard sound in the BIOS, but still it detects the onboard soundcard. Anyone have any similair problems?

I have a similar setup, but mine is working and playing music CD's.

Did you change hardware after 8.2 install?

yes i just checked it and it was correct.

I got it working. Using the --noprobe option to sndconfig let me pick out the soundblaster.. which worked.
