Best cheap linux sound card?
Does the Mad Dog Predator 5.1 work with linux? I searched around but couldn't find a definitive answer, although the 4.1 version seemed to be highly suggested. (I'm looking for a cheap sound card that actually works reliably with linux as my current one crashes every mixer program I have tried) Anyone know if this card is compatible with linux? Particularly Suse 9.3. Thanks for any info!
Edit: or how about the CHAINTECH AV-710 which is going for around $25 now? |

Am I missing something here, that only has 4 ports, 3 when not counting the line in.. So how does it do 6.1 or 7.1?
Edit: after reading this I'm sort of torn: http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/archi.../t-108615.html (AV-710 appears to be better, but I haven't found a definitive source that says it is compatible with linux yet..) |
