Macbook Driver Problem Linux Mint

System Details

Manufacturer: Apple
Model: Macbook
Model Subset: Unibody Late 2008

Operating System Details

Linux Mint Release 8 (helena)
Kernel Linux 2.6.31-14-generic
GNOME 2.28.1

Problem Description

I am almost positive these are driver problems. Here is a list of the problems I am having.
  1. Keyboard Back-light Not Functioning At All
  2. Display Brightness Adjustment Not Working
  3. CD Drive Ejects Repeatedly When There Is No CD
  4. Ambient Light Sensor Not Working

Here are some more details. The display brightness adjustment used to work, but then I installed software updates and it stopped working; it just stays all the way up now. The keyboard back-light light can't be adjusted by pressing the buttons, and I am pretty sure that the ambient light sensor is not adjusting the brightness of both the screen or keyboard back-light either.

Little late here...
Check out this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ma...5-1_5-2/Karmic
EDIT: Just wanted to say that Linux Mint is a fork of ubuntu so what works there will work on Mint.
