Lucent x RedHat 8.0 !
Hi all,
I am not obtaining to install my modem lucent in linux redhat 8.0. Where I can find drivers?

you can use ltmodem-8.22a5.tar.gz and use the insmod -f syntax if you are familiar with it, or you can wait a few more days (if you still don't have it working) for a new driver. The ltmodem-8.26a2.tar.gz to be released will provide transparent support for gcc 3.2 compiled kernels as in RH 8.0, SuSE 8.1, and Mandrake 9.0.

respected sir,
iam working in organisation
it has a server with redhat linux installed with a modem attached
i want to send a mail to another computer through sendmail to another place called pennya.
they have a modem connected
pennya system does'nt have a ip address because it is a single system
it has only localhost ip address 127.0.0.1
it can be connected by the modem and logged in by cu -ittyS0 dir
but not by ppp.(is it necessary to configure it with ppp connection to send mail with sendmail.)
i want to configure sendmail so that i can send mail to pennya system
what all files i should configure and what want all commands i should use for sending mail through sendmail to pennya system
please help me to solve this problem. since 1 week iam very worried and manager is also very angry for i could'nt configure sendmail. please give me solution

Just an update, the new driver ltmodem-8.26a2 is out! And it's available as a RH8 rpm as well. Go to www.heby.de/ltmodem and follow the links!
I installed on my Gateway 2150 laptop running RH8 and it now sees my modem just fine! wooohooo!

can you give a description of how to configure the module after the rpm has been installed.
I cannot find a config file for the driver.
