lucent winmodem


hello i have a problem with my lucent winmodem, i cannot locate its port. i already installed the driver ltmodem****but i think its only for serial and my modem is internal (PCI). i have kernel3.4.31. actually i have 2 modems, other is the external (us robotics which im using now) but i want to use the internal (for another option).. please help me.. thanks..

Wow! When did 3.1 come out?! The best I can manage is 2.6.17-rc1 ... I am in awe.

(The kernel version is the output of uname -r.)

What you need is the scanModem script from www.linmodems.org

Cool - have you tried "scanModem" script - it will detect your modem and advise you on drivers.

You should tell us how you tried to locate the modem's port. However, chances are that the internal PCI modem is not a serial modem. Serial/HW modems do not need extra drivers - win-modems do.

You should be aware than many distributions have packages for common winmodem drivers (turning them into linmodems).
