I've got RH 7.3 and am hot swapping hdd's so I can connect. My goal is to get my lt winmodem upandrunning so I don't have to hot swap (actually, my goal is to migrate to RH, and leave MS to the wife ((my 8 yr old likes linux more than ms!)).
So my question is: anyone out there have a lt winmodem and get it to work?
If so, can you please let me know some of the what's and where's and how's?
THere are several sites out there and I'd like to get info from someone who's been successfull. I've got a PIII 1000 Mhz Dell box if that helps.
How do I create a symlink w/ my modem? According to scanModem.txt I need to create one, and I have no idea how to create one.
Also, do I create a symlink after installing the drivers for my Lt WinModem or can I do this before?
well, the before or after driver install question is moot, since the driver(s) is/are installed.
but I think all I have to do is create a symlink for the modem, and then config pppk (using kde).
Please let me know, as I'm pretty anxious to start using RH online rather than hot swapping hdd's.
