lsusb does not display samsung android device


I am having problem with my phone not being detected
in Ubuntu. lsusb does not display Samsung electronics device .
Thanks for any help.

IIRC the Android is a bit secretive about itself, and that's the issue.

When you connect a phone to the pc, you get two options on the top bar across the Android
USB Connected
USB Debugging.

You need USB Connected to mount. At that stage it interacts with the pc, and lsusb might show something.
