Low framerate in 2d games with linux ...high in 3d games with XP WTF
 

I got a 3d Blaster Riva TNT 2 (based on a nVidia riva tnt2 m64 graphic processor) and my problem is that when I play super tux on linux I get incredibly low fps (about 20fps) and when I play Quake 3 Arena on Windows XP I get about 60fps (which is good).Then I cannon smash 3d(the ping-pong game that comes with mandrake 10.1) and I get even worse framerate... I would like to know why linux handles so poorly my 3d card and if there was any driver I could download that could do better.

Probably a stupid question, but have you installed the nVidia drivers?
