Low CD-R writing speed?
Hi!
I've got a TSSTcorp CD/DVD+-RW TS-L532U. It is supposed to have 24x cd-r writing speed. Though when I use k3b this speed is never used for some strange reason. In the end of the writing process it says that overall writing speed was about 12x, though the cd-writer is configured in k3b to have 24x. During the writing process something odd happens too: It begins as low as 8x, then gradually just step by step up to 12x then to 16x and when the writing process has reached 90% or so it just up to 20x.
So, I believe this is not normal... Can anyone help?
Thanks

Thats Normal. No CD-RW will ever realy reach its maximum speed except for maybe directly in the centre of the disc, also it depends on the quality of the media used. Most Windows programs lie about the write speed and just report the chosen one, so no, it's nothing to worry about, go away and make a cup of tea while it burns you'll be none the wiser

Uummmh..... There is one problem though: I've got an older CD-RW writer, which is supposed to write at 12x. That one writes with 13x throughout the disc....
