Lot of Hardware prblems
First problem, When I opened up Linux when it was installed, no matter what I did, the mouse cursorwould automatically move t the topleft coner of the screen. I ran the Hardware setup a bunch of times but nothing.
Second, using the keyboard to explore, I couldn't figure out two things. How to get on the internet with Cable and how to change the screen resolution.
Also, after getting all these problems Itried to reinstall Windows ME with my system recovery cd's. Once it said take the CD's out and click reboot, once my computer restarted the screen showed "GRUB " and froze.
If anyone can solve any of these problems, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could you be a little more specific?
- What distro are you using?
- Which mouse?
Try running mouseconfig as root.
If you have cable, you probably have to configure you NIC for acces with DHCP, when booting it simply asks your isp for an IP lease.
System recovery cd's suck (not even to mention Windows ME), but if you wanna get rid of Grub (and assuming you don't boot Linux from floppy) get a hold of a Windows 98 bootdisk, boot off it and run
fdisk /mbr
that will erase Grub and you should be able to reinstall ME, although I don't recommend ME, if you HAVE to use Windows, install Win2K.

OK Thanks for the deleting GRUB information. By the way ME was the only version available to me at the time.
I have a Microsoft Intelli PS/2 Mouse and I tried mouseconfig and XF86config but they both never work, my mouse just keeps going to the top left corner of the screen. I've even tried other mice but nothing works.
As for the cable, I'm new to linux...what does NIC mean? or DHCP? or Distro?
Thanks.

Two of them have nothing to do with Linux.
NIC = Network Interface Card (aka Ethernet card)
DHCP = Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (aka Dynamic IP)
Distro = The flavor of Linux your using, ex. Redhat, Slackware, Mandrake.. etc.

Hi MrMuffles,
Before asking such term definitions, you'd have a closer look at this magnificent resource website : http://www.pcwebopedia.com/
Will surely be useful I guess.
