I'm really annoyed about how my sound is gone all of a sudden. My sound card all of a sudden disappeared and it doesn't get detected at boot. When I use YaST, I can't find my card which used to be "ASUS P4P800" under the sound config. But I'm thinkin' it's something under the "Intel" card listings as it is a P4P800-SE motherboard with and Intel 865PE chipset. But when I go to add the card I get this error:

The kernel module snd-intel8x0m for sound support could not be loaded. This can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.

Does anyone know what I can do to get my sound going again? This really frustrates me.

well...this may sound a little overreacting ,but try recompiling your kernel adding the sound card module
another thought is to use alsamixer change your sound setting. At least you will see if your soundcard is displayed on top of the screen.
