lost ps2 keyboard connection after boot

The keyboard has split connectors one ps2 and the other usb

I pulled it from the PS2 socket and it worked on the USB

How do I go about recovering on the PS2... How do I check that PS2 port

thank you

You usually have to reboot before ps2 peripherals work. If the keyboard has USB ports on the back (for the mouse) then that is what the USB cable is for, not controlling the keyboard itself. If the keyboard itself isn't working right or is broken, just get a new USB one; they aren't very expensive.

it's booting without the PS2 working and have to switich it to the USB port to complete to login. FC4 was installed using the PS2 port. Now it's got this issue. Not that the using the USB port is a problem other than tying it up.

So do you know a command that checks to see if the PS2 port is active?

thanks
