Everyting was going good till 2 hours ago when I find that I cannot see any of my files from my external hard drive.
Im running Gentoo and Ubuntu and neither one sees any of my files. The disk IS recognized and I can successfully mount the partition AND even create new folder/files. But I cannot see any of my old stuff. According to "df /mnt/usb" all my files are still there since there is the same amount of usage as before.
I really dont know what to do? I feel like a chicken with my head cut off!! I have alot of important information in there, and lucky me, I have not made a backup.
The hard drive is an: Maxtor 250GB SATA, powered with a external usb enclosure.
Formatted entire disk FAT32
Probably not helpfull: AMD Sempron, USB 2.0, Ubuntu (latest), Gentoo (latest)
Im about ready to give up, so far I have tried fdisk, testdisk, photorec, ..?
If you think there is no hope and Im screwed feel free to let me know
, it will save me some hours of stress.
