Looking for good 5.1 sound card

hello,

I'm running Suse 9.1 on the following hardware.

Intel 865PERL motherboard
P4 3.0C processor.
1 gig kingston pc 3200
nvidia 5900
160 gig hard drive sata

Everything is working great but the onboard sound doesnt support 5.1 in linux, only 2 channel. I've done lots of google searches and I belive this to be the case. I'm looking for a good card to handle 5.1 sound. Any suggestions? I've been looking at an audigy 2.

Thanks

Audigy2 is quite a good card. But do a bit of research on linux support to it. While emu10k1 are well supported, i don't know much about audigy.

I use Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. It outputs 5.1 with very, very good sound quality through ALSA. IMO, Creative Labs cards got worst on terms of sound quality when and after the Soundblaster LIVE came out. Programs that uses OSS only supports 2 channels, so in games you will not get 5.1 surround sound.
