Logitech Wingman RumblePad
OK, so I installed RedHat 8, configured all my other hardware, built and installed a bunch of rpms, and started to try to get my gamepad - a Logitech Wingman RumblePad- to work. I modprobed joydev and hid, jstested, and jscal'ed. I got the gamepad to work with the Icculus.org beta of Serious Sam. Life was good. Then I decided I wanted to have joydev loaded at boot. I edited /etc/sysconfig/hwconf and told it that the driver was joydev. That may have been stupid, but it seems that Kudzu overwrote it on the next boot with the previous values, so one would think that nothing was adversely affected. Then I loaded Heretic II and told it to turn the joystick support on. It froze up entirely. Now, anytime I load a game with joystick support, jstest, or jscal, my system hangs. I can't think of anything other than editing the hwconf file that I have done which might have done this. Any ideas?
