Logitech quickcam works only after unplug/plug

Hi

I have a problem with gspca driven logitech webcam. Proper module is loaded at startup, /dev/video0 is created but when I try to run dov4l and webcam (as root) it says that there is an input/output problem with this device - it can't open this device. However it is sufficient to unplug and plug it again and the problem disapears. Webcam works as it should.

I could live with that, but I would like to be sure, that when the power goes down for a moment and the server reboots when I'm not around, it would still serve the images from the webcam. Any thoughts on this? Is this some strange permissions problem?
