Hello
I use Ubuntu 4.10 (Warty), with kernel 2.6.8.1
It's the first time I try to compile something like drivers... and I have a problem.
I've downloaded the drivers (I found them in HCL) for Logitech Quickcam Messenger and when I do "make all", I get
Code:
$ make all
make -C "/lib/modules/2.6.8.1-3-386/build" SUBDIRS="/home/rosa/qc-usb-messenger-0.8" modules V=1 USER_OPT=""
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.8.1'
Makefile:415: .config: No such file or directory
mkdir -p /home/rosa/qc-usb-messenger-0.8/.tmp_versions
make -f scripts/Makefile.build obj=/home/rosa/qc-usb-messenger-0.8
Building modules, stage 2.
make -rR -f /usr/src/linux-2.6.8.1/scripts/Makefile.modpost
scripts/mod/modpost -i /usr/src/linux-2.6.8.1/Module.symvers /home/rosa/qc-usb-messenger-0.8/quickcam.o
/bin/sh: line 1: scripts/mod/modpost: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [__modpost] Error 127
make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.8.1'
make: *** [quickcam.ko] Error 2
I try to "make modpost " (I don't know if this is possible) in scripts/mod, but it seems that I need the file "elfconfig.h".
I have the kernel source files in /usr/src/linux-2.6.8.1 and I made a symbolic link from /lib/modules/"my kernel"/build. Is this correct?
Any idea?
