Logitech MX1000 cordless mouse

I installed this mouse and Mandriva and Suse 9.3 picked it no problem. The scroll wheel works, left and right works but the side thumb button doesn't. I have it plugged into PS/2. I have seen many ways to get the side button to work when hooked up through USB but not PS/2. Can it be set up the same way through PS/2 as USB?

Are you using a USB --> PS/2 adaptor?

Also what settings do you have for your mouse [Section "Input Device"] in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file?
