Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Logitech MX 5500 Keyboard/Mouse Combo Errors in Fedora 12

Hi guys.
I recently installed Fedora 12 on my system. So far, it's working pretty well but I have been having one issue: Specifically, my keyboard/mouse combo will develop seemingly random issues over time.

The first sign of this was when my number pad just stopped working. Now, this is a problem because this keyboard, for whatever reason, does not have a "numlock" as far as I can tell - still, I figured it was a glitch and just used the number row for a bit. (In fact, even after rebooting numlock is still off - but this is a minor issue.) The bigger problem for me is the mouse. Eventually while running the system, its performance will grow worse - first the left click will work intermittently, then it will stop intermittently, then the right click will stop also (although strangely, at least for as long as I've left it in use, the mouse wheel and mouse movement work perfectly).

Rebooting did not fix this problem; resynching the mouse and the receiver didn't either. The only (temporary) workaround I've been able to find was to turn the mouse off then back on via a switch on the bottom, after which it begins working properly. I have done some searching on this and found that other people have had similar problems with this combo with Ubuntu (and in fact there is an open bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ux/+bug/291269 ) but, so far, none with Fedora specifically and all the results I've found have been different from my issue in one way or another (and troubleshooting is tedious as the problem is not constant). Any input you can offer would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
