Logitech MX 5000 Keyboard and Mouse quit working with Broadcom wireless card
Hi all. Im wondering if anyone can help me with an odd problem I have recently encountered. I have a logitech MX 5000 keyboard and mouse and they have till recently worked fine. The other day I installed a broadcom wireless card which uses the netbc6.inf file (though in nix I haven't gotten far enough to configure ndiswrapper and it may work fine with whatever mandriva defaults it to).
The issue I am having is that since I installed this wireless card, when X starts the mouse and keyboard completely stop working. No CTRL+ALT_F#, CTRL+ALT+Backspace.. nothing. The mouse doesn't move or any other response. Ive clicked the connect button and the keyboard says it is connected but still no ability to do anything. Again this happens ONLY when I start X. If I boot to safe mode (init 1 or init 3) the keyboard responds and I can type, access files, etc. When I startx or startkde.. no activity at all.
Does anyone know of a workaround for this? Is it a known issue? I am having a hard time posting the relevant file information since I can't use the keyboard to post with!
I can say I am using Nvidia binary drivers from Nvidia.com and until the wireless hardware was installed, was working perfectly. I have tried deleting xorg.conf and having nvidia-xconfig make a new one, but the same issue happens. I know my keyboard is using basic "kbd" drivers, and my mouse is using the normal "mouse" driver. Ive also tried "evdev" for the mouse, but that did not help anything either.
From safe mode ive looked through /var/log/xorg.0.log (or whatever it is, sorry im doing this from memory, its not in front of me), but I see no errors.
I am using Mandriva 2009.1 with the latest X86_64 kernel.
