Logitech MX 500

Anyone know if the new MX serires of mice from Logitech work in linux and have some information on how to set up X to use it? Or does it just use standard mouse driver and PS/2 protocol?

It should be the same as any other optical wheel mouse, just do a search of LQ for "optical mouse" or "intellimouse".

Well, I have a MX700 and it works fine as a mouse.

The 2 thumb buttons and the app button do not work, but everything else does. I'm happy with it. I have 5 out the 8 buttons working, and didn't need to mess with anything.

I would expect that you will get similar results with the corded version. As always, YMMV.

The link seems to be down. How do you get the side buttons working with an mx700? I'm running m9.1.
