Logitech G700 Wired/Wireless Gaming Mouse scroll wheel issue for Linuxbox

Hello All.

My mouse and keyboard are dieing (eg they suddenly stop working requiring a reboot and sometimes the post test will not detect the keyboard) and due to the odd angle my desk is at I am considering getting my first wireless mouse since the late 90's and I do not know much about modern wireless anymore. So I did what anyone would do and researched wireless keyboard and mouse technology as well as Linux compatibility. One thing that came up a lot is the the scroll wheel / tilt wheel did not work well and has to be mapped manually is that something others have come across

You can not go too wrong with Logitech

however they WILL have a microsoft "My Documents", "MSN Mesanger" and "windows Media Player" buttons
but they can be remapped on the keyboard

and the mice will " just work, out of the box"

Really that is good to know the scroll/tilt wheel and maybe the variable dpi setting button are the only two non standard buttons i am overly concerned about and that is good to know that the keyboard special function keys will remap
