Question Logitech Extreme 3D Pro on Linux

I'm planning to buy Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, but first i want to know if i can use it with my Gentoo Linux. Does anyone have experience of that joystick? Does it use standard protocol, which can be used with 2.6.9 gentoo-sources kernel?

I currently own that joystick and am trying to get it to work. I'll let you know if I can get it to work.

I use Slackware, so if I can get it to work it should work on Gentoo.

The joystick is great in Windows, and would highly recomend it.

Good news! It will work under linux
see below http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15222,

It is detected:
modprobe joydev
dmesg | grep usb

but I dont know how to use (I'm an even bigger newbie than you judging by your registration date)

This is my first time using a joystick in linux.

These days? You just plug it in. I just tested it with Wing Commander in a Linux-native DOSBOX.
