Logitech C270 webcam

I'm thinking of getting a webcam, and the Logitech C270 has received good reviews.

However, Logitech says the camera uses something called "Logitech Fluid Crystal" :
"What is it? Fluid Crystal is a proprietary algorithm that automatically adjusts the frame rate, color and sharpness to provide the best possible picture and motion."
http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/69/7507

So my question is: is this something which is implemented on the hardware, so I would benefit from also on linux debian, or is this something which is only software-implemented with the Windows drivers, and therefore no performance improvements will be noticed on debian?.

Any first hand experiences with this webcam on linux?.

TIA.

The camera is supported by the uvc drivers:

I think that the fluid crystal stuff is an algorithm implemented in software ... probably some filters and white balance.

You can probably get the same effect by using:

to adjust colors, brightness, contrast, etc.
