Question lm_sensors + Epox 8KHA +

I'm running Debian 3.0 with a Epox 8KHA+ motherboard and I'm dumbfounded as to how to get lm_sensors working so I can check ym mb/cpu temperatures and voltages. I seem to be able to get it installed however I can never get it to work, or detect the proper things... I think

I'm rather puzzled... does anyone have experience with this or similar boards? I tried a few howto's but with little success

I've had issues too with lmsensors, could never get the GUI front-ends to work. Can you get the modules loaded enough so as to get a temp reading in plain text from either /proc/lm or /proc/lmsensors, its been a while so its somewhere in /proc.

Luck,

This is on an Abit K7V-raid, a year old board that wasn't covered until I got bored one day and decided I wanted to know if I could fry an egg on my heat sink. With mandrake you should have all of the i2c modules available so if none of the lm_sensors will modprobe, maybe the board isn't supported yet.

Perhaps... however I'm actually running Debian now, just forgot to update my info...

Do you happen to know the Chipset of your MB? And was there any instructions you followed when you installed lm_sensors?

It was a lot of getting i2c to work, four seperate sections in menuconfig. The how-to I used was long ago, but I found a better one for another thread this morning, here.

Chipset, the venerable VIA kt133, similar, but probably a good solid bit different than what you are on. Actually, I'm certain of it as back during this sensor, if you merely touched the thing while getting the chip seated over it, all of your readings would come back hot.

Cheers,

To get lm_sensors working you need to install the matching i2c package from the lm_sensors home page first, the i2c that comes with the kernel is not enough to get lm_sensors working.

I got this thing going but the only thing it shows is the amount of memory I am running.. No temps =(
My board is a Epox 8KHA+

VIA KT266 chipset

Runing Linspire 4.5.499 with 2.4.24 kernel
Setup this thing as module in kernel. (was setup as module by default.)
ran the sensors-detect and followed directions to get the modules loaded.
