Linuxant errors at boot if card is not inserted - unable to use ethernet cable

A couple of days ago I could access the Internet through an ethernet cable. I downloaded the driverloader at http://www.linuxant.com (ndiswrapper doesn't support the TrueMobile 1300 card) and ran it with my Windows driver. After running ifconfig to get the second ethernet device up and running, I was (and am) able to access wireless networks. However, I have run into two problems:

1. If the wireless card is not inserted at bootup, I get an (apparently) unlimited stream of error messages saying that driverloader was unable to start. I don't want to have to always boot up my laptop with the wireless card inserted.

2. I can no longer access the Internet via ethernet cable. If I type:

ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth1 up

I have no Internet access.

Is there a way to configure driverloader and my ethernet cards so that I can manually select the one I want to use after boot?

Thanks,

Brian

System Freezes

OK - even worse. My system is beginning to freeze periodically. I have four lights at the top of my keyboard: a processing light, a caps lock light, a scroll lock light (I think), and a numlock light. Periodically (twice in the last three hours), my computer freezes completely (doesn't respond to control-alt-delete, control-alt-#, control-c, escape, etc.) and the caps lock and numlock keys beginning blinking. I have to use the power button to reboot. What's going on???

Thanks,

Brian
