Linux won't boot up after freeze
my system froze the other night while doing a file search. after leaving it for a while to see if it came back i saw no progress and rebooted. now i can't boot linux. it does a harddrive scan on boot up and freezes when it does the scan at exactly 6.1% everytime. i can't even get to the shell. is ther any way i can override the scan and get into the shell and maybe fix things or do i have to do a format(which i really would like to avoid.)
I'm running Mandrake 9.1 with a Pentium 2, 400MHz with 128 Mb Ram 10 Gb Win Me HD and 8Gb Linux HD if that helps any.
Thanks in advance
