Linux USB installation media - Issues

Hi all,

I'm currently running Windows 11, and I want to dual boot it with Linux (Manjaro, Fedora, Ubuntu, ...)
I only had success with Ubuntu, all the other fails for a reason I don't understand.
I'm using a USB drive, and I made it bootable using both Rufus & Etcher on Windows.

My BIOS / UEFI, does recognizes this drive and I can boot from it, but then the issues begin:

- Ubuntu boots fine, and I'm able to install it.
- Fedora results in a black screen.
- Manjaro boots, and I can choose how to start it (Open Source vs. Proprietary drivers), but once the installer is launched, inside a KDE shell, the keyboard and mouse stops working (plugging them out and in again doesn't work, and they are attached directly to the ports on the motherboard).

Besides that, I do have a monitor with a couple of input ports (HDMI, DVI, ...) and it's channel selection is set to 'Auto'.
When a Linux installer boots, the monitor receives 'NO SIGNAL' and thus goes to stand by.
I need to change it manually to the correct port in order to get the correct output.
Please note that the monitor's channel selection is set to 'Auto'.

I have updated my BIOS to the latest version and I tried different combinations in the bios 'Fast Boot / Without Fast Boot - Secure Boot / NO Secure Boot), and it just doesn't seem that it's working.

Any ideas? It's driving my crazy.

My hardware:
Code:
- Processor AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor, 3700 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
- BIOS Version/Date	American Megatrends Inc. 5601, 10/07/2020
- BIOS Mode UEFI
- BaseBoard Product	PRIME X470-PRO
- BaseBoard Version	Rev X.0x
- GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I never suggest one update bios unless errata mentions an issue they have.

It may be there is a bios entry for what video output is default.

Might need to know what versions you have been trying.

Some distro's support fully secure boot uefi so I'd start there.

Nvidia drivers may be part of the issue but I forgot the current solution.

Modern linux has been trying to move to a seamless video from grub to gui. KMS is what it's called and might have to boot to option nomodeset to force it off. Then fix video.

You definitely need fast boot disabled for any Linux, and some (not Ubuntu, I think) need secure boot blocked as well. I suspect the problem is the Nvidia — it usually is. Personally, I'd say that if Ubuntu works, stick with that and be thankful!
