Hi I have just bought an external hardware modem. Itís
a mentor V90. I am using suse 7.3 kernel 2.4.10-4GB.
In WV dial an error comes up

in kppp I have put my internet details in including my
DNS stuff.
when it goes to connect it initializes my modem and
just stays there
for ever

now in vwdial ,it will not reconise my modem at all,
what should i do now. an error messag it comes up with
error messages like this

>wv dial; internet dialler version 1.42>.intlising
modem
>sending: ATZ
>sending:ATQO
>re-sending:ATZ
>modem not responding

In kppp,{ internet dialler} an error message comes up

Error

/etc/resolv.conf is missing cant be read

Ask your system administortor to create this file (can
be empty)
with appropriate read and wrigth permissions.

You haven't just bought it, this is the third time you have posted this - you have merely changed the poll. The last time you did this you were asked to refrain from posting these polls - they don't add to the message and just waste time. The first instance of this question was on July 2nd. All the info you have posted here is available in your earlier thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=200303

To anyone reading this, please post your responses in the thread linked to above. This thread has been reported and will be closed.
