linux support for internet over bluetooth to cell phone?

i think i will be getting a cell phone (i should have one already) soon and was wondering are their any specific models that i should look for to use the internet through the cell phone over its bluetooth, do most phones work, do most not work? its probally going to be through cingular and i have a feeling i will use that more then the firewalled-to-hell wifi here with their overloaded proxy
