Linux shutdown disables sound device in BIOS.
Using Slackware 9 on an HP Pavilion 1.2g w/integrated sound device.
Sound works fine until I shutdown the computer. Then, the sound device gets disabled. I must then go into bios setup and switch the device back to 'enabled' or 'auto'. After which I get a 'cmos checksum bad' error message. The sound then works until I restart the computer again.
Powering down the computer without shutting down Linux does not disable the sound device.
Thank you,
