Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Linux on Parallels 2.2 - Virtualisation

Hi
With the release of Parallels 2.2 it looks as though this might be just what I need to allow me to run Solaris, Ubuntu, Suse etc, without the headache of partitioning and messing about with GRUB/LILO.

Has anyone else out there used this software? And more importantly, what sort of hardware spec's do you need for this.

I have an AMD64+3000 with 1G PC3200.

Apparently newer chips have SVM built in, which makes Virtualisation run faster. Are these the 939 chips onwards, how can I tell?

thanks

K

Hi
Well i'm on Parallels2.2 /Ubuntu 6.06 now. And it's worked a dream. I've assigned my wireless network to the virtual environment as the default network device and ubuntu connected straight to the internet.

This is brilliant software, they're definately getting my money.
OS2 Warp, Solaris, Mandriva and Suse are next (as i've got an massive HD and plenty of room or fun).

Amazing.
Get it and have a go, you get 15 days free.

I'm going to get so high quality RAM though as this'll punish my cheap Elixir PC3200 cards.

K :-)
