Lightbulb Linux on an NTFS Drive HELP!!!!


ok. I have 2 hard drives. the master is 20gb and FAT32 and the slave is 40gb and NTFS. I want to install linux on the slave. What do i need to do to accomplish this? I have partition magic and honestly need DETAILED instructions thanks!!!

you just put in a linux cd and use the installer. it will format the drive, so it won't be ntfs for long. the installer should be self explanatory. and just in case you were about to... *please* don't ask what the best distro is or similar, just search this site. thanks

Lightbulb Be Careful ..! Win XP and NTFS

Nooooo...
Be careful... If you have a Windows XP on an NTFS formatted disk.. that will cause future problems while it co-exist with Linux.. for example.. you will not be able to see windows while you are in Linux.
So.. Reformat your disk as FAT32 and install WIn then Linux,,'

but he wants to get rid of ntfs disk so that doent couse any problems
