Linux on an HP Mediasmart Home Server

I have searched and searched but have not seen where anyone has reported even attempting to install a distribution of Linux on one of these small footprint servers...

Have any of you?

Well Gumshoe, put on your detective badge, gather your hardware and check it against the HCL (Hardware Compatibility List). Should find everything you need there.

If you could so kindly point me to where the actual hardware is named I would be glad to. I have yet to find an actual hardware list.

Just wondering, where you can buy it without Windows?
