Linux MSI KT3 Promise Raid as normal IDE controller.

I would like to use my MSI KT3 motherboard's on board IDE Promise 20276 raid controller as simply a normal IDE controller. I have read in several places on the net that this is possible, yet I have not found instructions on how to do so, and have not fingured it out myself.

I would appreciate any help anyone could provide.

I would expect there to be some kind of BIOS setting(s) for the RAID controller. I am also assuming that you have already looked in the BIOS and motherboard manual to confirm this.

Yeah, I looked in the bios, but all I have found is a way to enable/disable the controller.
