Try the text-mode installer, just to see if it works. If it does, try appending the following to the kernel options:
Code:
noapic nolapic apic=off
Exactly how you do that in the RedHat installer I'm not sure.

hi Lordandmaker
i tried what u said

after the booting of the RedHat 5, an installation menu appeared having the foll. options..
===============================================================================

-To install or upgrade in graphical mode, press the <ENTER> key
-To install or upgrade in text mode, type: linux text<ENTER>
-Use the function keys listed below for more information
[F1-Main] [F2-Options] [F3-General] [F4-Kernel] [F5-Rescue]

===============================================================================
so i entered:
noapic nolapic apic=off

but no use, again the error log appeared as shown in my earlier post
so i retried to install and this time i pressed F4 for Kernel and typed

linux noapic nolapic apic=off

and this time an error appeared: no kernel image found

so please suggest me some other way

with regards

Your computer may have a faulty memory module, which can cause those type of issues. So boot to a CD disk with a RAM tester utility on it, such as this; http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page, or; http://www.memtest86.com/
