Linux in Asus Terminator 2?
Hi,
I´m thinking of building my second computer to barebone/sff case like Asus Terminator T2-P but I´m bit concerned about how Asus P4P8P- mobo will work with it. Distribution that I will install is Suse 9.2. Main worry is integrated soundboard which is ADI AD1888. Realtek lan should work and I have GeForce 5700 for graphics. There is only one PCI-channel and that would go to TV-card. Anybody installed Linux to this case? /Harri FIN |
I've had DragonFlyBSD and OpenBSD in it and all worked great. Not sure about the sound though as it was a proxy/fileserver in my case :-/

A computer case has nothing to do with compatiblity of Linux. The kernel will find out what modules will be compatible with your chipset of the motherboard.

Well, case doesn´t matter? really?
I thought I included mobo model code in my post. I know that kernel will or will not support sound, lan etc. That´s why I´m asking if anybody has experiences of this barebone. Yes, Asus do not use any other mobo in this case. /Harri |

Yes, the kernel will probe your hardware and figure out what it can use, but the kernel has to have support for the chipset in order to run it. I believe this is what the original poster was inquiring about. |
Hi,
I just wanted to inform, that I just Installed Suse 9.2 to my brand new Asus Terminator T2-P barebone. Everything installed fine; integrated lan, card reader, soundcard. /Harri |
