Linux for distributed system

Dear All
i'm intending to make a system on 16 nodes of computers similar to a cluster computers the nodes r (233MHz processor, 64 MRam, 5GB HD) i was asking which is the most linux would be suitable for those nodes and which version.

can anybody help????????????????????

Similar to cluster, in what sense?
What difference does your setup have from a cluster?
Would a linux cluster do the jobs?

If you want somemore links let me know and I'll post them. Oracle and IBM have some good stuff on there sites for grid's. Here we are using Oracle 10g running Redhat in a grid.

we will use MPI to manage a cluster of computers to do some huge computation we will control all this through the web, so we will dedicate about 16-->32 nodes for thie purpose. hope i explained enough???

You can use any Linux distribution that you are most familar with. You just need to pick what cluster management software that will work best for your work load.
