Generally, drivers for Linux are in the kernel, though there are some exceptions for certain makes of printers, wireless cards, and other devices whose manufacturers do not make code available for inclusion in the kernel.

I could not find much about the MSSL 1680 other than that it is a Windows 8.1 tablet of some sort. Have you tried it with Linux?

I did find this on github: https://github.com/rastersoft/gsl1680

I have no idea whether it will help.
