Linux doesn't recognize USB-HD after upgrade

Hi!
I use FC5. 2 weeks ago, I made a backup of windows files on an external usb hard disk. Today I plugged the usb-hd again, but fedora doesn't see anything.
before I could mount the hd under /media/New_Volume. Now there is either New_volume nor sda1 listed.
My fstab looks like this:
Quote:
cat /etc/fstab
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 / ext3 defaults 1 1
LABEL=/boot /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
/dev/shm /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
/dev/proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/sys /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01 swap swap defaults 0 0
the formating, was done like this:
Quote:
sudo /sbin/mke2fs -j /dev/sda1
what I also do not understand is that there is no sda1 under /dev any more:
Quote:
ls /dev/s
sdb sdb1 sequencer sequencer2 sg0 shm/ snapshot snd/ stderr stdin stdout systty
with another computer (FC4, I can read the usb-HD without any problem.

thanks for any help.

I added the following lines in /etc/fstab:
Quote:
/dev/sdb1 /media/usbdisk ext3
pamconsole,exec,noauto,f scontext=system_ubject_r:removable_t,managed 0 0
seems to work now.
I made an upgrade from FC4 to FC5 a while ago. It was maybe the problem.
If anyone has an explanation, I'm very interested.
