What Linux distribution to use about to work with a printer Canon Bubble Jet i250 ?

Unless you are running some highly specialized distro, this is likely not a distro issue. Generally, printers either work with Linux or they don't, though you may have to obtain the appropriate drivers.

Unfortunately, Canon's support of Linux is rather--er--spotty. Per the Canon USA website, Canon does not offer Linux drivers for this model. I have heard that persons sometimes have better luck finding drivers for Linux at Canon's non-USA websites.

I don't like your chances with this, however a small chance that you may get lucky with an open driver. For example, this openprinting page reports that the bjc800 (foomatic) driver is partially compatible with a number of Canon Bubble Jet models. The i250 is not explicitly listed but worth a shot I guess.

If you're desperate to have this working with a Linux environment, TurboPrint claim to have a working Linux (CUPS) driver. You can try it for free, but the full working version is not free.

Hard to know if it would produce valid output for the Bubble Jet i250 without some effort, including an appropriate ppd file.

I use TurboPrint with a Canon TS9120 and it works well. I don't know about yours but its worth a try since you can try it for free. However to use it permanently it is about $80 US as I remember.

I bought a Canon multifunction some years back in Florida at Staples, specifically because the box it shipped in claimed supported in Linux. I had to get the driver from Canon's UK website because its USA website expressly excluded it from support. 6 or 8 months later a newer driver showed up on Canon's USA website. When it quit working I took a sledge hammer to it. I won't buy anything with a Canon name on it ever again.

I've never owned Canon hardware because of the many threads encountered like this. ALWAYS do your research first! Yes, there are models that are explicitly supported, but in general their support for Linux to date has been dreadful.
