linux cisco
I want a new router(I already have a pc pentium 1 as linux gateway) like the expensive cisco routers,where i can install or have already installed opensource softwares any advice ?In case of a cisco routers would be possible to remove the IOS and install a better Linux router OS ? Is the IOS an unix clone ?Would be possible to port unix softwares on it ?

there are plenty of router versions of linux, depends what you want to get out of it. firewalls like ipcop do a great job of internet routing if that's what you are after, or there are distro's like RouterOS which purport to be dedicatd rotuers.
as for cisco... wtf would you spend good money on a high performance router and then delete ios off of it??? the mind boggles...

Well! I was looking for a proper router where i can install one of those linux OS for routers !The wtf is for wi-fi,isn'it?
